Girl's Circle & Square Skirt
The pattern on this rayon skirt is a fun, repeating design of circles and squares. The circles are formed by the use of eyelets (yarn overs). An elastic waistband allows the garment to grow with the recipient, if only for a few more months.
To ensure that nobody can see the recipient’s Princess underwear through the eyelets, this pattern also provides instructions on how to make a skirt lining. Due to the construction of the lining, please note that this project is made easier with a sewing machine, but it is not a requirement so long as you are confident in your running stitch.
Love to knit, but hate to sew? You can skip over the construction of the lining by purchasing a ready-to-wear slip.
The knitting pattern will provide you with step-by-step instructions on how to make the skirt pictured above. The instructions list the materials needed to complete the project along with the appropriate gauge. For your convenience, I have provided an abbreviated list of these materials below. The instructions then go on to detail how to knit the rayon skirt, how to construct the lining, and how to attach the lining to the skirt once completed. In addition to the written knitting instructions, a knitting chart will be included to show you how to knit the repeating lace pattern.
