Knit in squishy soft 4ply, the Glenbower Vest is an extremely versatile garment. The all-over diamond texture is simple to work and looks good in every colour, making the design completely unisex. It would look great on a girl or a boy and ranges in sizes from 4 to 10 years.

  • The vest is knitted flat in two separate pieces; a circular needle is used to avoid cutting yarns when working striped ribbing.
  • If desired, both sides of the front neck can be worked simultaneously by joining a second ball of yarn at centre front.
  • The shoulders are joined using the three-needle bind-off, then neckband is picked up and worked circularly.
  • Finally, after side seaming, armholes stitches are picked up and worked last.

It is important to use a very elastic bind-off for V-neck stitches in order to stretch enough to fit over the head.
