Glimmering Shawl
Interpretations Vol. 8 is here! This year brings you the charming 8th collaboration between Joji Locatelli and Veera Välimäki. This collection includes six themes, six words with two designs inspired by each word, showing a personal take on each of these themes.
In 2021 we continued to work together virtually. We found this to be a great opportunity to show you a bit of our home countries. We did the photoshoots separately in our respective major cities: Helsinki and Buenos Aires. Joji’s pictures are taken by Claudia Salazar, Veera’s by Jonna Jolkin.

Light breeze moves through my hair and brushes my face like a feather. I imagine parrots in palm trees, so bright and happy. I imagine turquoise water and colors from a long way away. Water reflects all movements, all colors, everything. The feeling of joy is woven into each stitch of this shawl, highlighting all that is happy and cheerful in my life.
With the Glimmering Shawl, you will knit one part then mirror it; make one wing and finally add another! The shawl is all about piecing a puzzle together but, in the end, it’s a colorful, graphic shawl with simple garter stitch and stripes. The shawl is worked modularly in pieces, joined as you go – no seaming involved.
