Glow

Glow is a simple but fun headband. It’s knitted in the round with two strands of yarn together. Make it either classic or bold, depending on the colours you choose.

SIZES
1 (2, 3)

Recommended ease: 4.5–6” / 11.5–15 cm of negative ease.

To fit a head circumference of 20–21 (21–23, 23–25)“ / 51–53.5 cm (53.5–58.5, 58.5–63.5) cm.

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
Circumference: 16 (17.25, 18.75)“ / 40  (43.5, 46.5) cm.

MATERIALS
Yarn: 1 skein of Peruvian Highland Wool by Filcolana (100% new wool, 109 yds / 100 m – 50 g), colourway 255 Limelight.

1 skein of Tilia by Filcolana (70% super kid mohair, 30% mulberry silk, 230 yds / 210 m – 25 g), colourway 101 Offwhite.

In addition, the sample features stripes made in various scraps of silk mohair yarn.

Both yarns – one strand of each – are held together throughout the pattern.If you decide to use another yarn, you will need approx. 55 (65, 71) yds / 50 (60, 65) m of DK-weight yarn and approx. 55 (65, 71) yds / 50 (60, 65) m of lace-weight yarn.

Needles: US 6 / 4 mm 16” / 40 cm circular needles.

Notions: 1 stitch marker.

GAUGE
18 sts x 28 rows to 4” / 10 cm in Twisted Ribbing, after blocking.

CONSTRUCTION
This headband is knitted seamlessly in the round with two strands of yarn held together.

MODIFICATIONS
If you want a multicoloured, striped version, you can use different strands of left-over silk mohair instead. You will need approx. 230 yds / 210 m / 25 g of lace weight silk mohair. Knit with each colour for about 0.2–1.2” / 0.5–3 cm, or to liking. You can choose as many or as few colours as you want to, depending on your preferences.
