Go Bang Socks
Designed for the Better than Toast Yarn Club, November 2013
Uses 2 x 50g of Knitsch Sock. For large feet (over a size 9 / 40), a third skein may be required.
Sized to fit an average women’s foot. What is average? I don’t even know. But I have big feet and this is sized to be sure I can get it on. The cable pattern isn’t overly stretchy, hence the greater-than-usual number of stitches. Because of this, you’ll probably end up using more yarn than you expect – try avoid the temptation to make the leg too long, unless you have small feet.
The Go Bang sock was inspired by tiles, of all things. Those tiny little hexagonal tiles you see in old buildings. The ones that you can’t bear to imagine laying one by one because it would be the most tedious job in the whole entire world. I like how the slipped stitches create little viaducts across the top of the knit fabric, looking like a honeycomb cable but taking it a step further.
