Golden Roots - Traveling Earth Scarf March 2023
Pattern release date: Friday 10th March 2023
This pattern is written in UK crochet terminology.
Shobha of Serendipitous Wool invited me to take part in a worldwide collaboration: a mystery CAL called the Traveling Earth Scarf where 12 designers individually work a section of the scarf for each month of the year, which is then released on the second Friday of the month.
This is my contribution for March, entitled ‘Golden Roots’.
My love of nature, and concern for the environment has always been a huge influence in my designs.
The design for the March highlights our precious Earth, and the importance of growth and food sustainability. The pattern depicts golden roots twining and winding their way through the earth as a sign of new beginnings ready to emerge. We need to treasure these roots, and take heed of the warning signs all around us of the damaging effects of climate change.
Shobha has a collection of gorgeous mini skeins for this year-long project in her Mata Worsted yarn.
