Golf Club Putter Head Cover
This is my favorite golf club cover pattern of all - I affectionately call it the Putter Pup! It features:
• QUICK knit - less than 2 hours!
• Seamless one-piece construction
• Fitted design, worked in the round
• Stretchy neck ribbing for easy on/off
• Optional pom-pom
This pattern will fit a traditional blade or small mallet putter, as well as most utility golf clubs. If you have an OVERSIZED mallet putter and need a knitted cover pattern, check out this pattern!
I highly recommend you use 100% wool yarn to make your putter cover; acrylics don’t seem to hold up well over time. The worsted weight wool is held double-stranded throughout. Allow extra yarn (up to 20 yds) for a pom pom.
This pattern has been recently updated to include all the tips and tricks I’ve picked up by making over a 100 of these putter covers in the past 10 or more years. Tips included are:
- How to cast on the main color without ends to weave in.
- Calculations for yarn bobbins for the striping.
- How to add a new color (striping) without ends to weave in where you connect the new yarn color.
- How to carry the idle yarns for the striping.
- Rnd-by-rnd instructions for both 2-color and 3-color stripes.
- How to perform W&Ts.
