Gone Bananas!
Gone Bananas! is the adult version of my children’s pattern, Go Bananas! After watching my kiddos having fun wearing their sock monkey jackets, I wondered, “Why let them have all the fun?” So, I knit up an adult version for the sock-monkey-lover in all of us. I added pockets, because as a mama monkey, I always need a place to put something.
The jacket is worked from the bottom to the hood. The sleeves are worked separately, in the round, and attached at the yoke. To complete the garment, the button band is picked up around the front edges and hood. Ears and optional bows are knit separately and then attached to ensure proper placement and provide extra stability. Pom-Pom is created and topped off at the very end.
