gorro da ervilha cor de rosa
This pattern was originally published in 2004 on my blog. The original hat had square earflaps and a first section in reverse stockinette. After knitting a couple of hats for friends and family I made some alterations to the pattern which in my opinion resulted in a nicer, more balanced design. The original version is still available for free in English and Portuguese.
Sizes
The difference between the two sizes results from kitting the hat at a different gauge. The yarns used are very similar but the thicker yarn produces a considerably larger hat.
Size one fits 1 to 4 years old approximately.
Size 2: 5 to adult.
Measurements
Size 1: 50cm circumference x 18cm (plus earflaps)
Size 2: 56cm circumference x 20cm (plus earflaps)
Materials
Yarn: Size 1: 1 skein (about 90m) of Noro Kureyon (100% wool, 100m, 50g). Size 2: 1 skein (about 100m) of Noro Ito (100% wool, 400m, 200g).
Needles (suggested size): short circular needles 5mm x 40cm and a set of matching double pointed needles (or your preferred method for knitting small circumferences).
Tools: markers, tapestry needle.
