Gothic Shawl
This great leftover shawl uses only 85- 100 grams worsted or fingering weight.
You can also use a heavier weight yarn and it works great, just go up a hook size or two according to your yarn choices.
Gauge is not important as long as you like the drape and hand of the fabric you are creating. Be mindful as you start, and check the feel of the fabric to insure that you are getting the desired effect. If needed, go up to a larger hook size to create more drape.
You can create the whole piece in one color striping yarn or use a variegates combined with solids, or all solids. Play with various options. Gather your leftovers and partial ball and have fun with the possibilities and combinations.
This is also a great way to use leftover yarn from a hat you have gifted to someone, combined with other complimentary yarns! It will match their hat without being too matchy-matchy. What Fun!
