The Grand Junction Shawl is created with a combination of stockinette, garter stitch, and mosaic-colorwork rows in a variety of bold colors. It’s a trendy, cute accessory to wear on a chilly night outdoors. This asymmetrical shawl is worked from one point and increased to the opposite long edge.

Yarn Weight 3
Finished Size 75” wide and 26½“ tall.
Yarn Manos del Uruguay Silk Blend (70% extrafine merino wool, 30% silk; 150 yd 137 m/1¾ oz 50 g): #3014 natural (A) and #3316 terra cotta (rust; B), 2 skeins each; #3210 Tahiti (turquoise; C) and #3008 black (D), 1 skein each. Yarn distributed by Fairmount Fibers.
Needles Sizes 6 (4 mm) and 7 (4.5 mm): 40” circular (cir). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions Tapestry needle.
Gauge 21 sts and 32 rows = 4” in St st on smaller needle.
NOTES
- This asymmetrical shawl is worked from one point to the opposite long edge.
- When a color is unused for only a few rows, carry it up the side of the work and bring it under the other color to begin working with it again. Break the yarn at the end of a stripe if that color will not be used for more than four rows.
- A circular needle is used to accommodate the large number of stitches.
- Slip stitches purlwise with yarn in back.
