This video tutorial shows you how to crochet a granny heart square. The written pattern is in the description below the video.

You can use any yarn and your preferred hook for this pattern. I used Big Twist Value yarn, a medium (#4/aran) weight yarn and a US Size J-10/6 mm crochet hook. My version is about 7” (17.5 cm) square through Round 8 and used approximately 30 yd (27.5 m) for the Granny Heart, 25 yd (23 m) for each center square (Rounds 5-6) and 15 yd (13.5 m) for each outer square (Rounds 7-8).
