Becky Skuse’s designer inspiration: “I’ve always adored rainbows, so designing a rainbow blanket had been on my to-do list for ages. I chose simple granny squares because they allow the rainbow colours to stay as the focus of the design, while the cream background keeps the look light and cheerful. For me, crocheting with each colour in turn was like a form of colour therapy, each one mesmerised me with its vibrant charm. To make the coloured squares stand out, I chose a yarn with a slight sheen, then used a contrasting matt-effect cream yarn for the background – both are super-soft yarns to make the blanket nice and snuggly.”
