Granny's Flower Basket
A free version is also available.
August 2025 version: available in the magazine and is in UK terminology.
May 2026 version: available from the designer’s blog and Ravelry store and includes separate versions for US and UK terminology, both with in-progress photos.
Granny’s Flower Basket Square Free Crochet Pattern was inspired by a basket filled with flowers from a traditional cottage garden border. It was designed originally for Granny Square Day 2025.
I had a lovely response to it and I was so pleased that I decided I should make the pattern available so as many people as possible can make it.
This 10 cm/4” square block is a fun make for crocheters, featuring some interesting stitches.
It could be used as a coaster or appliqué to decorate a bag or shop bought top or incorporated into a blanket or cushion with other squares. I also love sticking/stitching a single, pretty granny square on the front of a blank greetings card to send to crafty friends on special occasions.
This pattern has separate UK terminology and US terminology versions. Please be sure you are using a copy in your preferred terminology. I recommend that you read through the pattern before starting.
I sometimes add extra resources for my patterns, e.g. yarn substitutions, adaptations, styling suggestions or helpful video clips as updates on my original blog post for the release, so consider checking it out here: https://www.madewithloveandfibres.com/post/step-by-step-g...
