You probably know them, those old-fashioned knotted pillows. Maybe they were even on your grandparents’ couch… Old-fashioned? Not really, super hip and so much fun to make! Let’s face it… You just want to make such a cool pillow, don’t you?

About this pattern

  • This Latch hook pillow has a crocheted back panel.
  • Cutting strands to knot yourself: If you’re cutting strands to knot with yourself, make sure that your strands have a length of 6cm/ 2.4” and use Durable Cosy for the strands. There are 340 strands in a Durable Latch hook yarn pouch, which you can use to calculate how many strands you need to cut to knot your pillow.
  • Knot per row or per surface: Find out for yourself what you find easiest. When you find it easier to indicate an area on your Latch hook grid, then draw a box of 60x40cm or 23.6x15.7” with a pencil or marker. This is not necessary if you are going to knot row by row.
  • For the crocheted back: it is good to measure after your first few crochet rows to see if it matches. The back should be 40x60cm or 15.7x23.6”. When you can’t get to the exact measurements, it’s better to stretch it than having the back of the pillow too big.
