Graphite Sparkles Cowl
8.18.14-Updated to include written directions for all charts.
This lacy cowl is a fantastic way to try out Estonian lace knitting! The materials and time commitment are minimal, and the actual pattern is not too complicated. It is also a great pattern to try out beading. There are only 24 beads used in the whole cowl. This is a charted pattern, no written out instructions for the chart.
Finished Measurements:
pre-blocked 18”/45cm long and 6.5”/16cm wide
after blocking 22”/56cm long and 8.5”/22cm wide
Other Materials Needed:
5 buttons 5/8”/16mm You can use slightly smaller buttons, as long as they don’t slip back through the buttonholes.
Beads: 24 size 6/0 beads, or size of your choice. As long as you can thread them overtop a knit stitch, (or you can pre-string them if preferred), feel free to use any type of bead you like!
Small steel crochet hook for attaching beads
Crochet hook and waste yarn for provisional cast on
Special thanks to Olga Jamovidova for providing my inspiration for this pattern!
