Gravata
This begginer-friendly project takes five hours to complete. Find the odd skeins of single ply yarns in your stash and add a skein of silk mohair, suri silk or bouclé. Choosing woolen-spun yarns will result in a lighter and bouncier texture.
Size
This is a one size scarf. Changing the width or length of the scarf will change the yardage needed to complete it. The finished measurements are: 10 x 190cm | 4 x 75in
Materials
Yarn: Sample in the photo was made using 1 skein of Terno Dark grey brown (100% Portuguese wool, 190m | 207yd = 100g), 3 skeins of João 401 (100% Portuguese merino wool, 136m | 149yd = 50g), 1 skein of Brusca A587 (100% Portuguese wool, 125m | 136yd = 50g) and 1 skein of Isager Silk Mohair 7S (75% kid mohair and 25% silk, 212m | 231yd = 25g).
Needles and tools: 10mm/US 15 knitting needles; tapestry needle for weaving in ends; large crochet hook for applying fringe.
Gauge
11 stitches = approx 10cm in 1 x 1 rib.
