The Herringbone pattern dates back to ancient times and can be found in everything from Egyptian jewelry and paved roads to high end menswear fabric. I love how dramatic it looks when supersized in this contemporary throw. One way modern quilters have differentiated themselves from traditional quilters, is by pumping up the scale of individual quilt blocks as shown here. It also calls attention, in the most subtle way, to color. The Grayscale Throw is knit in two shades of gray—a light and medium, which gives it a modern feel. It is also knit in the most heavenly (and economical) yarn, Wonderfluff from Knit Picks. Trust me, knitters, you want to make this blanket in this yarn!
