How much texture can you get into one blanket? The Blanket is worked with stripes of nupps, enclosed in cables, laying on a bed of seed stitch. It is perfect for those little fingers that love to touch.

The colorful yarn I used makes the blanket even more fun and more intricate looking, but we know better. I started each skein of this gradient yarn from the opposite ends to give it this more symmetrical look. Of course, you can also break into that stash and knit it in stripes of different colors.

The pattern repeat is a multiple of 24 stitches, plus 17 so it is easily adjusted to any size you wish. As gauge is not critical you can adjust needle size or the number of repeats to any yarn you wish to use. Just make sure to do a swatch so that you can calculate the amount of yarn you will need.

Although Estonia nupps can be somewhat tedious (at least for me), this mini nupp is easy and fun. The slip stitch edging gives the blanket a professional looking edge. The pattern repeat is easily memorized so you can knit on the go.
