Inspired by an early 70’s era commercially produced Greek fisherman’s cap (& the original cover of the 1st eponymous Bob Dylan album) selected for this compilation book on hats & gloves from around the world- this one to represent Greek influence. It features an optional ‘bas-relief’ K/P anchor motif across the top. Instructions are both charted & written.
Cap top is first knit flat, with edges then picked up, sides & band/ band hem then completed in the round, brim & brim liner is picked up & knit using short row shaping. Hems are sewn last with brim stiffener & elastic inserted to make this cap easily adjustable for adult sizes. Optional braid & anchor buttons are added as a final classic touch.
(Matching gloves are also featured in this book)
Extras include approx. 20” of 3/4” elastic for adjustable band, small piece of plastic canvas for brim stiffener & 2 anchor buttons (optional)
Down-loadable pattern leaflet contains instructions for both the cap & the matching gloves.
The book version is now available in a German translation.
