I wanted a pair of Gryffindor House Socks that really said Gryffindor, and I am really in love with the way socks in the 1940’s and 1950’s had motifs on the sides of the socks, so I decided to combine the two ideas into Gryffindor House Socks. There is nothing abstract about these socks - just a big, bold
Gryffindor lion on the outside of each sock. I used a simple k2, p2 on the parts of the socks without the Gryffindor lion but you can work the leg and foot in stockinette if you prefer.
