The Guðbjörg socks are inspired by a pair of high socks in the Textile Museum in Blönduós, Iceland, knitted by Guðbjörg Baldvinsdóttir sometime between 1875 and 1909. Their story unveils the harsh conditions of life of many Icelanders at the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th.
