I found that this pattern used slightly more yardage than recommended when knitted in my preferred yarn, which was Sublime cashmerino. The pattern uses an easy cable and knits up quickly. There is an area of 2x2 rib a large area of stocking stitch and an easy pattern panel worked over 4 rows.
You are left to work out for yourself what to do with the pattern once you have split the neck for the button area, but its not hard to see what to do.
The split neck makes it great for babies and toddlers as its easy to get over their heads because of the neck fastenings.
