UPDATE: looks like the chart for the Hand for the third and seventh sizes has been slightly truncated in one of the printings. The good news is that it’s only missing the round numbers and half of the first stitch, so that first narrow column is the start of the chart.

Where is says to increase every 3 rounds, that should be increase every 2; where it says every 4 rounds, change that to every 3.

Stranded colorwork makes for warmer mittens, and this geometric pattern looks very pleasing in all sorts of color combinations. As a designer, simple patterns like this make it easy for me to create a broad range of sizes! Diagonal lines help keep your fabric more even, and the very simple nature of the repeat means that you’ll have it memorized almost immediately.

The yarn I chose has a little bit of mohair in it, adding some extra warmth and a bit of a halo. Even if you’re not sure you like mohair, go ahead and try it—it’s a small enough percentage that it won’t be noticeable for all but the most sensitive, and you might discover that you love the extra oomph it adds to mittens.
