I love gussets. And I love gloves that fit, well, like a glove. Combining gussets, two for each thumb, plus a little extra twist in the finger creation results in a glove that really hugs every curve of your hand. That little something extra? A tiny bit of fabric is worked between each finger base so that instead of a V-shaped join, a more natural U-shape results. These fourchettes, as this fabric strip is called by fine glove makers, fits the glove to your hand and allows more natural movement. I’ve added a rib that twists on itself as a tailored way to start these beautiful gloves, so the design name, “Gusseted with a Twist Gloves,” fits just as well as the finished items will.
