Based on the book A Morbid Taste for Bones by Ellis Peters, Gwytherin is inspired by Sioned, a woman who is steeped in medieval Welsh tradition yet fiercely independent. This shawl mixes a Celtic inspired cable and delicate lace with a modern asymmetric shape. Suitable for everything from a stroll in the countryside to diner in the manor, this elegant and easy piece will become a favorite wardrobe staple.

Notes:

  • The shawl is worked from side to side. Beginning with a few stitches, increases along one edge create the asymmetric triangular shape.
  • This shawl is deigned to use most of the yarn by allowing flexibility in the length of the ribbed edging at the end - work more or less ribbing as desired or as your yardage allows.

This pattern has been tech edited and test knit.

Note: Green color shown is Herbalist, blue is River Severn, both on Killington by Miss Babs Yarns.
