CONSTRUCTION
This vest is worked in one piece from the bottom up, with steek stitches up the center front. Fronts and back are then divided at the underarm and additional steek stitches are cast on to work the remainder of the upper body in the round. The steeks are cut open before joining shoulders with a three-needle bind-off. After the shoulders have been joined, stitches are picked up around the armhole and neck to work ribbing.

US 3 / 3.25 mm circular needle, 32” / 80 cm or 40” / 100 cm length (for hem and button bands).

US 4 / 3.5 mm circular needle, 32” / 80 cm or 40” / 100 cm length (for body).
US 4 / 3.5 mm circular needle, 24” / 60 cm or 16” / 40 cm length (for upper shaped body).

US 4 / 3.5 mm circular needle any length (for working Three-Needle Bind-Off).

Always use a needle size that will result in the correct gauge after blocking.

Notions
6 stitch markers (one of which should be unique for beg of round), scrap yarn / stitch holder, tapestry needle, 5 (5, 5, 5, 6) (6, 6, 7, 7, 7) buttons (⅝“ / 1.5 cm in diameter) or desired number of buttons.
