Half pi sock stash shawl
A half pi shawl is a wondrous thing! It is incredible how the semi-circular shaping comes from such simple mathematical theories – which you don’t need to know or understand . Quite simply you double the number of stitches across a row (apart from in the border for this shawl) once the number of rows worked has been doubled.
I used a total of 230g of eight different left-over sock yarn shades in blue/green/purple jewel-like tones. You can use as few as two or as many as seventeen!
The shawl will need blocking to create the semi-circular shape. See my video listed in the pattern.
You will also need a long 4mm (UK 8, US 6) circular knitting needle, 2 stitch markers and a tapestry needle to weave in ends.
The shawl has a wingspan of 160cm (63in) and a radius of 75cm (30in) after blocking.
