From chilly autumn mornings through cold winter days to the spring Hallanvaara-cowl is a great companion. Knitted with silk-merino and silk-mohair yarns it is luxuriously soft and snugly. The pattern is as beautiful and finished on both sides and can be worn on either way.

The cowl is worked from top to down seamlessly and it has a simple texture of knitted and purled stitches. There is long sections in the pattern where the piece is worked just as before and then suddenly there happens a lot of things at the same time. Figuring out the sections where a lot of things is happening can be over whelming, and is the reason why the pattern isn’t that beginner friendly.

The pattern contains short rows made with wrap and turn method and the last stitches are crafted together. For the neatest finish Kitchener stitch in 1 by 1 ribbing is to be recommended.
