Bring a spot of glamour to this scrap yarn make by holding it
with mohair throughout the cowl, taming even the wildest colours into a beautiful palette. Two strands are held double throughout the project, one of the yarn A (Drops Kid Silk) and one of yarns B–N for short cowl, and B–H for long cowl.

MATERIALS
SHORT COWL
● Drops Kid Silk, 75% mohair/25% silk, 25g/210m/230yds
Yarn A: Grey 10 x 2 balls
● Drops Alpaca, 100% alpaca, 50g/167m/183yds
Yarn B: Medium Grey 517 x 1 ball
● 4ply scrap yarn or mini skeins of approximately 100g/400m/437yds Yarns C–N: 12 x 5g of
different colours
● 4.5mm & 5mm hooks
● Two stitch markers

LONG COWL
● Drops Kid Silk, 75% mohair/25% silk, 25g/210m/230yds
Yarn A: Light Beige 20 x 2 balls
● Drops Alpaca, 100% alpaca, 50g/167m/183yds
Yarn B: Light Camel Mix 2020 x 1 ball
● 4ply scrap yarn or mini skeins of approximately 100g/400m/437yds Yarns C–H: 6 x 10g of different colours
● 4.5mm & 5mm hooks
● Two stitch markers

TENSION
The pattern does not require wet blocking, so you can start
the project to determine the right gauge. Work 16 sts and 13 rnds to measure 10 x 10cm/4 x 4in using 4.5mm hook, or size
required to obtain tension.

MEASUREMENTS
Cowl can be made in two sizes. Pattern instructions cover the short version first and instructions for the long version are in brackets.
Short Cowl: 39cm/15½in deep by 62.5cm/24¾in circumference.
Long Cowl: 20.5cm/8in deep by 125cm/49½in circumference.
