Method: the mittens are worked in rounds on DPNs. If you use a circular needle, I recommend placing markers dividing the stitches as below. They are worked from the cuff up, with a thumb gusset at the side and a patterned thumb and hand. These instructions are written to be worked over five DPNs.

Yarn: 4-ply (fingering) yarn, Hebridean & Natural Colours from The Birlinn Yarn Company; 50g/1¾oz/150m/164yds
