Finished Measurements
About 14¾“ wide and 64” after blocking.
Although I enjoy cowls and shawls, my most beloved scarves are the basic rectangles, whether skinny or ultra-wide. The Hamilton Scarf is an ultra-wide bordering on shawl-width. In cold weather, it’s a luxury to wrap up in.
The intermittent lace pattern is adapted from the Cat Paw stitch in Barbara Walker’s first treasury of stitch patterns. Although there are 40 rows in the border at each end of the scarf, the pattern is visually intuitive. Keep a notepad and pencil handy and it will be easy to keep track of where you are.
