This design has a simple construction, worked bottom up in flat rows. The length of each of the three stitch patterns & the sleeve length are all totally customisable to your preference, & there is a choice of narrow or wide sleeve edgings/cuffs. The top is designed to be fitted at the bust for a flattering, natural taper at the waist. However, if you prefer a looser fit, it also looks great sized up over a vest/tank top.

The pattern name was chosen because of the pretty, Japanese feel to the design. Hanami is a Japanese celebration where people gather to view the cherry blossom in full bloom. I love the sound of that!

You will need:

Yarn: 820 - 1969 yards of any #3 weight dk / light worsted yarn.
Hook: 4.5mm (US 7) crochet hook (or hook to obtain gauge)
Notions: Stitch markers, tapestry needle, tape measure & scissors

Gauge: With a 4.5mm (US 7) hook (or hook size to obtain gauge) in 4 row pattern repeat, 24 stitches 12 rows = 4” square.
