HAPPIEST CAMPER is a simple ribbed boot topper or shorty legwarmer designed to show off your favorite DK weight yarn. A tubular cast-on and bind-off create a polished, stretchy finish on both edges. These little legwarmers are snazzy, useful, and totally reversible!

YARN
Woolens and Nosh High Twist DK, 100 % Superwash Merino, 243 yd / 222 m per 100 g, or similar DK weight yarn, 1 skein. www.woolensandnosh.com

Sample shown in colorway Happy Camper on leg with 15” / 38 cm full calf circumference and 11.5” / 29.5 cm leg circumference at top of ankle boots in Size 2 and used 199 yd / 182 m (82 g).

194 (219, 243) yd / 177 (200, 222) m
80 (90, 100) g
Estimate includes small buffer.

FINISHED CIRCUMFERENCE
Sizes 1 (2, 3)
8” (9.6”, 11.2”) / 20.5 (24, 28.5) cm

Measure your calf at the top of your boots. Select a size that is 4”-6” / 10-15 cm smaller depending on preferred ease, as these are quite stretchy! Adjust circumference based on preferred gauge and fit, choosing any even number.

FINISHED LENGTH
8” / 20 cm or preferred length (suggested length: 6”-8” / 15-20 cm)

Work can stretch with wear, resulting in a shorter finished length.

GAUGE & NEEDLES
30 stitches & 34 rounds = 4” / 10 cm in K1, P1 ribbing, blocked and unstretched
US 4 / 3.5 mm circular needle in preferred length for small circumference knitting or size needed to get gauge

Crochet hook of similar size for tubular cast-on
Smooth waste yarn in contrast color for tubular cast-on
