Happy Bricks Blanket
A happy baby blanket made in the inset mosaic crochet technique.
The design is a repeating pattern of brightly coloured ‘bricks’ against a white background, but of course you could use any colourway that you like!
The blanket is ideal for someone wishing to try mosaic crochet for the first time as it is a simple pattern which is easy to master; and there are both detailed instructions and step by step photos to assist you.
The blanket has an attractive border; the pattern includes instructions on how to add it successfully to your blanket.
The blanket measures 66 cm wide and 78 cm long (26 x 31 inches) which is baby blanket size.
The pattern is adaptable however; there is information included which explains how to increase the foundation chain in order to make any size of blanket that is desired.
You will receive two files of the pattern, one each in UK and US terms.
Hook: 3.5mm
Yarn: Deramores Baby Soft DK
Main Colour = 3 balls of Snow
Contrast colours: 1 ball each of Sea, Bubblegum, Lilac, and Sunshine.
About the yarn: 100% acrylic, 330m / 360 yds per 100g ball
DK weight (8ply) /Light (US3)
Any yarn in the same weight could be substituted. The baby yarn that I used is slightly finer than a regular DK yarn, so you may find your blanket comes up a bit bigger. You may also need a larger hook to correspond with your yarn.
A chart is also included in the pattern.
