The Happy Camp Sweater is a seamless, top-down design that balances bold all-over colorwork with easy wearability. A ribbed collar and short-row shaping set up the yoke, where geometric motifs unfold in rhythmic repeats across the body and sleeves. Simple rounds in the main color give the eye (and the knitter) space to breathe.

The straight body and relaxed rolled hems keep the silhouette casual and layer-friendly, while the sleeves taper gently toward ribbed cuffs for a polished finish. It’s a sweater designed for joyful knitting and everyday adventure — equally at home by the campfire or out in town.

Note: These yarn amounts are estimates. Any changes that knitters make to gauge or the sweater’s measurements will change the amount of yarn you’ll need. Tip: Several testers who used thinner yarns for Color B found they needed more yarn than listed. If you’re swapping yarns, it’s a good idea to grab an extra skein just in case.

NEEDLES*
You’ll need two sizes of circular needles in several lengths. First, knit a gauge swatch to determine the size needle that you need for the main body of the sweater. You’ll use a needle one size smaller for the ribbed collar, hem and cuffs. For the sample, I used:

US Size 4 / 3.5 mm 16” / 40 cm circular needle for the ribbed collar and a magic loop needle for the ribbed sleeve cuffs.

US Size 5 / 3.75 mm circular needle, 16” / 40 cm length for the sweater just below the collar and 32” / 60 cm length for the body.
Always choose the needle size that you need in order to obtain the pattern’s gauge.
