A wonderful stash busting project to use up leftovers! Yarn is held double for extra squish. Pattern is worked completely in the round. The limbs are attached as you go and there is minimal seaming to attach the ears to the head.
All the shaping is made with simple increase & decrease stitches.
Skills required to knit this toy:
-Knit & Purl in the round
-Increase and decrease stitches
-Follow instructions for a three-needle decrease (provided in pattern)

Materials & Tools
- Yarn in the weight and colors of your choice.
Your yardage will vary based on yarn weight and
needle size.
Small bear: fingering weight, held double
approx. 50 grams total, stands approx. 8.5”
Medium bear: DK weight, held double
approx. 100 grams total, stands approx. 11.5”
Large bear: worsted weight, held double
approx. 150 grams total, stands approx 14”
- Needles for working in the round (DPNs, 2 circulars,
or 1 long circular for Magic Loop)
Suggested needle sizes for yarns doubled:
▪ US 3/3.25mm for fingering weight doubled
▪ US 7/4.5mm for DK weight doubled
▪ US 10/6.0mm for worsted weight doubled
If your gauge is loose, drop down a needle size; if it’s
tight, go up a needle size.
- An additional needle, same size as above, to use
when working a three-needle decrease (see page 5)

• Tapestry needle

• Polyfil
• Scrap yarn or spare needles for holding live sts
• Small piece of wool felt for eyes
• Removable stitch markers (optional)

Gauge
You want to produce a dense fabric so the polyfil does
not poke through. Knitting with the yarns held double
helps with denseness, but make sure that you are still
knitting at a tighter-than-normal gauge.
