Harper House bird house (knit)
This is knit at a very tight gauge on size 6 or 7 needles with chunky yarn. The very firm fabric will hold its shape, making for a secure birdhouse.
Alternatively, knit on a larger needles (10, 10.5, or 11) and felt it!
The pattern is knit from the top down, starting with a provisional cast on and i-cord.
The doorway is created by decreases and increases, knitting back and forth. rejoin to knit in the round for the base. You may wish to create a deeper base under the doorway - you’ll have plenty of yarn to do so, so feel free to add a few extra rows before beginning your decreases!
