Harriet
With it’s delicate lace collar fastening at the neck, and set in sleeves Harriet is the quintessential cardigan for your little girl to wear to school, the park or special occasions.
Starting at the hem with a simple knit one, purl one rib, moving into the small underarm gussets which allow for freedom of movement and ease of dressing while maintaining a fitted line, you then work the fronts and back. The sleeve sts are picked up and the sleeve head worked back and forth until all sts are incorporated, then the sleeve is worked in the round to the wrist which ends with rib. The sleeves will fit nicely over clothes and should not need to be folded up at the wrist.
Harriet is named after my second granddaughter, a beautiful little girl born May 2013, whose gentle, solemn nature suits this simple, pretty style.
The cardigan pattern is supplemented with a keyhole neck pullover pattern, both can be knitted without the lace collar if desired.
The lace collar has both charted and written instructions and is suitable for advanced beginners.
