In Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, Harry experiences his first Christmas at Hogwarts, and thanks to kindhearted Mrs. Weasley, has his first real Christmas presents as well. Under the tree in the Gryffindor common room is a hand knit wool sweater emblazed with an H for Harry. An avid knitter, Mrs. Weasley welcomes Harry into their family with this classic sweater.

Commencing with a tricolored corrugated brim, cheerful sweaters knit in stranded colorwork with Harry’s initial encircle the body of the hat. Knit from the bottom up, modern holly motifs dusted with snow bookend the sweaters, while the rest of the hat is knit in solid stockinette in the round. Easy spiral decreases shape the crown.

This pattern was offered as a bonus pattern for knitters who preordered the book and is not found in the hardback.
