Construction
The Harvest Moon Cardigan is worked top down in flat and circular knitting, with 5 mm needles and holding 2 strands. You will start by shaping the top of the back with increases on each end, and then you will work the back until you reach the underarms. You will pick up stitches along the cast on edge to work each shoulder separately, with increases along the front edge. Once you reach the underarms, you will join the fronts to the back, and you will cast on stitches for the underarms. The bottom of the body is worked flat in stockinette stitch, and the edge is worked in 2x2 rib stitch with 4 mm needles.
For the sleeves, you will start by picking up stitches along the armholes, then you’ll shape the top of the sleeve with German Short rows. The sleeves are then worked in stockinette stitch with decreases all along. The wrists are worked in cable ribs with 4 mm needles.
Finally, you will pick up stitches along the edge with 4,5 mm needles in order to knit the I-cord edge, with 5 buttonholes.

Shape and sizes
Sizes XS (S - M - L - XL - 2XL) are suited for an approximate bust circumference of 80/85 (85/90 - 90/95 - 95/110 - 110/120 - 120/130) cm. Make sure to take your measurements in order to choose the size that will fit you best.
The Harvest Moon Cardigan is meant to be worn with a comfortable ease, slightly adjusted. It is rather short, stops at the hips, and the sleeves stop just before the wrists. You will be able to add some length before the rib edges if you want to add some length.

Sample
Start by knitting a sample to check that your tension matches the one indicated in the pattern (after blocking it), 17 stitches x 24 rows = 10 cm x 10 cm (or 4” x 4”). If you don’t obtain the same gauge, try out other needle sizes, until you get the right swatch (if you need more/less stitches or rows for 10 cm 4”, you’ll need to use bigger/smaller needles). You can work the sample in flat knitting, but make sure to use the same circular needles as you will use to knit the pattern.

YOU WILL NEED
• 450 (450 - 500 - 550 - 600 - 650) g of « cotton-merino » 50 g/105 m - from Katia yarns (color 100) held together with 100 (125 - 125 - 150 - 150 - 150) g of « silk mohair » 50 g/420 m - from Sysleriget (color Rollergirl)
• A pair of 5 mm circular needles (and 5 mm double pointed needles for the sleeves, optional)
• A pair of 4 mm circular needles (and 4 mm double pointed needles, optional) for the rib and cable edges
• A pair of 4,5 mm circular needles with a long cable preferably, for the I-cord edge
• 5 buttons, 18 mm
• 5 removable stitch markers, a least two different colors
• 1 tapestry needle, scissors, pins and a flat surface to block your knitting
