Mosaic knitting for quick and easy results.

Knit with one colour at a time - slipping the other.

I chose this motif because it seemed to have a Russian feel to it. When my Russian friend saw it she said it reminded her of something she inherited from her Probabushka (Great Grandmother) (photo #2).

Yarn requirements:
The main photo shows a small single loop.
Small single loop: about 110m (125 yds) of each yarn.
Large single loop: about 150m (165 yds) of each.
For double height, double those amounts.

You can have dark motifs on a light background or light motifs on a dark background (see photos 3 + 4), just be sure to have good contrast between the two colours.

The pattern includes 2 charts so you won’t have to reverse the colours as you knit. ☺
