Hat in a Flap
This pattern is ideal for the last minute gift.
This is a quick and easy, but cosy hat, ideal for those who live in cold, windy areas. The combination of 7mm needles and bulky yarn makes a good, dense fabric, making it nicely windproof.
The picture shows the hat in two shades, but you can knit it in one shade if you prefer. You will need 2 x 100g hanks to complete the project.
The construction is simple - you knit the ear flaps to begin with, and then form them into a round after casting on stitches between the two flaps. The hat is knitted in the round resulting in a seamless, comfortable hat with nothing to sew up except the ends.
