This classy hat features a beautiful braid along the border. The braid is created with simple cables, very easy and quick to knit!

The border of the hat is made sideways, then stitches are picked up and the top is made in the round. Some sewing is required to join the edges of the sideways border.

Materials:

Small/Medium Size:

• 1 skein of Bernat Satin 100% acrylic yarn in Stardust or any other #4 medium worsted yarn (10 ply)
• US #8 (5 mm) circular needles (16” long)
• US #8 double-pointed needles (a set of 4 or 5) to shape the crown

Medium/Large Size:

• 1 skein of Lion Brand Vanna’s Choice yarn (100% acrylic) in Silver Blue or any other #4 medium worsted yarn (10 ply)
• U.S. #9 (5.5mm) circular needles (16” long)
• U.S. #9 double-pointed needles (a set of 4 or 5 to shape the top)

Gauge:

Small/Medium Size: 4.5 sts per 1” in stockinette stitch

Medium/Large Size: 4 sts per 1” in stockinette stitch
