Hawthorn Fall Leaf
Crochet appliques can add to so many things whether they are crochet or not. One of the most popular appliques during fall are leaves. Crochet leaves of every kind can be found everywhere! Today, I want to share a more unique but fun shaped crochet leaf applique tutorial. The shape of this leaf is most similar to a hawthorn leaf but also looks like it could possibly be an oak or a maple leaf.
This cute little applique works up in minutes. Make one in every fall color to really boost your soul and prep for all that pumpkin spice you’ll be hearing about really soon!
Materials Needed For The Crochet Leaf:
You really can use any yarn weight and the hook size recommended on the yarn label. However, for the sample I will be crocheting in this tutorial, I used scrap amounts (a couple yards) worsted weight yarn and a crochet hook I (5.50 mm). I have 5 samples in many of the images in this post, the yarn used is either Premier Yarn Anti-Pilling Worsted (color: peach blossom & butter), Knit Picks Brava (sorry, I don’t know the exact colors) and Mary Maxim Natural Alpaca Tweed (color: sand dune)
