Haymitch Socks
On the surface, Haymitch seems a bit of a drunken fool, the kind of man prone to mistakes. But one doesn’t become a Victor by accident. Sure, he’s a bit off center, but that doesn’t mean he can’t be deadly accurate when the need arises. With an asymmetric heel and toe detail, and a slip st rib detail that has the appearance of a purposeful mistake. This sock is intended to be masculine, but not boring. Fun, but not too fussy…and maybe a little bit off center.
SOCKS ARE NOT MIRRORED FROM RIGHT TO LEFT, both the toes and the heels are just off of being a perfect mirror. “Purposeful mistake” details, like the wrap around heel sts that come to an end and the arch ribbing that ends abruptly, are placed there on purpose to follow the Haymitch “off center” theme.
There are three sizes, S M, L with cast on counts of 60 72, 84. The leg chart is used for all sizes and both socks and is also used for the instep. There are separate charts for heel preparation and toe preparation for each size and leg for the more complex toe and heel options. The sock is imperfectly mirrored from right to left. There are two heel and two toe options, one of which is more complex and charted, the other more simple and just written out.
These socks are very stretchy and are appropriate for both men and women. Our size medium easily fit both a man’s average width foot, and a ladies medium width foot.
A very special THANK YOU to all of my wonderful testers who have helped this drunken sock become a reality: Alberh, Knitterynoob, Knittymelissa, RedTina, Ruatha, Stampchic, Stef19!
