The lacey pattern in this sock reminds me of water falling over rocks, andleaves and tree bark. They are named after a river in Rappahannock County which flows in cascading waterfalls down from the Shenandoah National Park, through forests of pine and popl.ar. Lightweight, open and lacey, they are perfect for those days when just a light sock is needed; pretty enough to wear with sandals but substantial enough for shoes as well..
