Hazy Shade of Winter is a cozy sweater that brings the tranquil beauty of the season to life. Inspired by the serene landscapes of winter, this design features a charming yoke of pine trees and graceful deer, perfectly captured in classic Icelandic wool. The natural warmth and softness of the yarn envelop you, while the simple yet striking colorwork evokes the stillness of a frosty forest. Whether you’re nestled by the fire or exploring the great outdoors, this sweater is a timeless companion for the winter months.

Hazy Shade of Winter is a circular yoke that is worked seamlessly from the top down. The neck is worked first, after that, several series of short rows are used for a comfortable and beautifully shaped finish.
The yoke is shaped with increases that are evenly distributed around the entire circumference of the upper body.
Sleeves are then placed on hold and the body is worked toward the hem.
The sleeve stitches are then placed on the needles again and worked in the round toward the cuffs.
Beginner-friendly as you only work with 2 colors at a time.
Please note that the stranded pattern is charted only.
As the sweater is knitted top-down lengths are easily adaptable.
Please, read the whole pattern carefully before you start knitting. As the pattern gives detailed calculations for all sizes, I recommend highlighting all numbers related to your size in order to have an easy overview of the pattern.

CC: shade 0056: 91 (100, 110, 119, 133, 142, 155)m / 100 (110, 120, 130, 145, 155, 170)yds

Needles
3,5 mm / 4 US circular needle 24”/60 cm or 32”/80 cm and 5 mm / US 8 circular needle 24”/60 cm or 32”/80 cm

Note: if you also work with Lettlopi yarn, which helds terribly 1x1 ribbing, I recommend going down in several needle sizes (3,5mm) for ribbing, in relation to the main needle size (5mm). If you use other yarns, going down 0,5 or 1 size is enough.

Notions
1 stitch marker • waste yarn for holding the sleeve stitches • tapestry needle to weave in the yarn ends

Gauge
17 sts and 24 rows — 10x10 cm / 4x4’’ in stockinette in the round with 5 mm / 8 US needles, washed and blocked.
