Heartmoji
Wear your heart on your feet and express your mood with Heartmoji socks.
With five pages of heart-shaped emoji, you can choose to send a variety of messages. How about Yes/No socks, so you can easily answer questions by showing the soles of your feet?
Show your energy levels as if real life is a video game and you’re all out of hearts!
Give your socks multiple personalities, with happy hearts on your legs and mildly annoyed hearts who are tired of being walked on.
There are so many fun, pretty, and silly choices.
The Heartmoji pattern includes detailed instructions on:
~ How to blend colourwork techniques to knit heart patches ANYWHERE on the sock without having to carry the colour all around the sock OR cut the main-colour yarn to work intarsia
~ How to use the ladderback jacquard technique to manage floats
The heels in the Heartmoji socks are another aknitica heel variation. They form diagonal stripes when knit in striping yarn, and they use short-row shaping combined with increases and decreases to create an adjustable-fit, roomy heel.
In this case, the shaping of the heel is arranged in a way to leave the ENTIRE centre of the heel clear for colourwork shenanigans. Today, hearts -- tomorrow, the world!
The heels have written instructions AND charted instructions this month!
Sizes: XS(S, M, L, XL, XXL) / 58(62, 66, 70, 74, 78) sts
Yarn:
Any fingering-weight sock yarn will do.
100 grams is more than enough for XS, S, M, and possibly L. You may want a bit more than 100 grams for sizes L, XL, and XXL, depending on how tall you make the legs.
I used the gorgeous new pretty.string Pretty Lux in Amazonite as the Main Colour (80% superwash merino, 10% cashmere, 10% nylon) and pretty.string Pretty Soft in Raspberry as the Contrast Colour (80% superwash merino, 20% nylon).
Each heart uses about one metre of yarn.
These are the February socks in The Heels for Days Sock Club, where you get one new sock heel a month for 10 months. So far, I have failed miserably at only adding a heel each month and have instead made entire sock patterns. I got particularly carried away with these ones.
