Hen & Chicks
Yardage is for one hen, one chick. Each chick uses about 6.75 yds.
For all of the worsted weight toys in this book, I used a gauge of 20 sts and 24 rows = 4″ in stockinet stitch, which I achieved with US size 6 needles. For Cotton Fleece and Serendipity Tweed, I went down two sizes in needles, resulting in a different gauge, but producing a dense fabric suitable for knitted toys. It is extremely important, whatever yarn you are using, to produce a firm, dense fabric.
Colors used in the model:
- M10 (Creme)
- M155 (Lemon Drop)
- M197 (Red Hot Passion)
- M05 (Onyx)
- 520 (Butter Yellow)
